From the Your Tax Dollars at Work file, news that the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) has awarded a $2.7 million contract to Ntrepid, a newly-formed Los Angeles-based startup, to create fake online "personae" for the purpose of manipulating online conversations and spreading pro-American, pro-military propaganda. In other words, our government is building a multi-million-dollar sock puppet army for Twitter and Facebook. The "online persona management service" called for in the contract would permit one US serviceman or woman to manage up to 10 separate identities. Good thing this is nothing at all like what the Chinese government does, in attempting to control free speech online. Nothing at all.
cenk has been pounding obama for his blinking contest with the GOP over social security. turns out he's got a point...
okay, cenk making yet another correct political prediction is nothing exciting.
but take a look at how the battle on that issue is taking place within the white house and by extension capitol hill and what it means IMO for other programs.
Historically (as in all points of data until a few days ago) Nuclear Energy has the fewest deaths per unit of energy.
I did some preliminary
research with wikipedia and got a general trend of nuclear being safest, but I recently found real data about it to confirm my suspicion that
nuclear energy actually has a great track record.
It's becoming clear who the republicans are going to put forward as their candidate and he frightens me. The republican powers that be have groomed Romney behind the scenes and are getting ready to unveil him. He has been quietly working the donor lines and has kept his mouth shut and his image clean. It will be much harder to call him crazy rather than Sarah Palin. He frightens me, because he has a good chance to win. When people look at Obama and Romney they are going to see 2 republicans and the real republican will win. If you think the republican agenda is out of control when they only have the house and a few governerships, wait till they go absolutly batshit fucking crazy with the presidency. Obama pisses me of with his republican light bullshit, but he has not yet appointed a conservative to the supreme court. So I ask all TYT members to think hard and maybe swallow your gall and get to work for Obama.
Part of the psychological warfare the GOP uses to wield tyranny upon ordinary Americans, is to have ongoing wars. The tactic works well because every time they attack something, it puts people into the defensive position. The more things they attack, the more people scramble to defend. They employ bait and switch tactics. They Demonize their enemy. There really seems to be a never ending supply of tricks. Here are 10 things anyone can do that will lead America back to freedom from tyranny:
I was overjoyed when Cenk said Fox News would probably drop Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh's show might go, too. Apparently there is not much consumer demand for conservative talk shows anymore.
But then I asked myself: who would replace them, and where would they go?
There seems to be a common misconception among some white people that it is appropriate or even amusing to insult other races and/or cultures as long as the audience is another white person. I don't know why some white people think this, but they do. I experience it almost weekly.
It's not okay. Really. It's not. At least it's not okay with this white person.
I've set up a group on ESPN Tournament Challenge for the TYT Army. No money involved, just fun and bragging rights. If we get enough people, maybe we can convince Dave to donate a TYT T-shirt or something for the winner. If you already have a bracket on ESPN you can just search for and join the group. If not, it's fairly easy to sign up and join, just follow the link below and enter the group name and password.
Just face it the only way you can have an effect on Hugh Everett and Bobo is not to write and comment on THEIR posts so I think we need to come to a unanimous decision.
