Since when does lit'l Kenny start to post links to Newweek! to support his pathetic attempts to build Iran into the Neocon satan of this decade.

Maybe you should have thought of that before you voted in the idjits that basically gave Iraq to Iran and increased their leverage in the region.

So, I'm reading Nietzsche, and he makes an interesting point about people of Ken's ilk and their concept of power.  He argues that the strength of a nation is reflected in the number of 'parasites' (his word, not mine.  If you pay taxes, you are hardly a parasite) it can support.  In fact, he argues that the more worried a nation is about it's 'parasites', the less well off it actually is.

 Consider the mighty blue whale.  It's covered in barnicles, yet it does not spend its days trying to rid itself of barnicles, it keeps on keeping on, paying them no mind because the whale knows the barnicles pose no existential threat.

 Bringing it back around to Ken and his ilk, they want to claim we are the worlds greatest economic and military power and yet say we can't handle the 'burden' of a public insurance option.  Not free insurance, but an insurance program offered by the government, paid out of your pocket.   

According to Ken and his ilk, we can, and we must afford the 300-billion dollar 'bailout-priced' Joint Strike Fighter (yes, we don't even have one yet, but we're 300-billion in the hole), or bailing out the banks to 'save the free markets' but cannot afford any social programs.  Ken, and others like him, are pretty much gung ho 'spreading democracy and global freedom', no matter what the cost.  Clearly, it's not prohibitive to him.

 I'm not even going to get into how foolish it is that people like him are onboard with us getting loans from the Russians, the Europeans, and the Chinese in order to protect the Russians, the Europeans and the Chinese.  I 

 Essentially, in this country, there are two types of people.  People like Ken, who view America as weak, impotent, and perpetually threatened and people like myself, who think that America, being the biggest whale in the ocean, can handle some barnicles.  We just have to be pragmatic.

  Make no mistake about it, though.  The biggest barnicle, by far, is the MILITARY.

The whole defense procurement process is just stinking rotten, maggot-crawling corrupt, and aircraft procurement is the worst of all.

And we won't mention the fact that we still don't have a proper replacement for the old A-6 or A-7, in spite of having paid for 3 development projects designed to create one.
